Neil Singh – Director

Neil Singh has been working with people with learning disabilities since 1989, during which time he has worked within and designed services for people with severe learning disabilities and complex needs.
Neil graduated from the Tizard centre at the university of Kent in Canterbury with a Diploma in Applied Psychology of Learning Disabilities/Challenging Behaviour in 2002 and, since that time, has been involved in developing and delivering a range of training courses around understanding and managing challenging behaviour and teaching skills to people with learning disabilities.

Neil has worked as a behavioural support manager, developing support teams and behavioural support strategies around individuals with complex needs within an Essex based charity and for nearly five years prior to setting up Nexus was the operational manager for both a community support service and community resource centre, developing innovative and person centred learning and development programmes for the people with severe learning disabilities he supported. Neil also has a Registered Managers Award (RMA)


Steve Bailey - Director

Steve has worked for and alongside disabled people since 1990 within a number of roles and organisations. He started his journey as a sailing instructor for disadvantaged children in Boston, USA then became a personal assistant for a young person with a physical impairment. He then moved onto roles within residential care, day services and supported employment before undertaking more senior and strategic roles in the statutory sector including leading on the first phase of In Control for Essex County Council.  In 2006 he joined a national charity supporting people with a learning disability as a Regional Projects Manager where he was actively involved in the development and operational management of self directed services and support including transitional housing and Supported living

Steve has also worked as an independent consultant for Helen Sanderson Associates providing training and development to local authorities, Primary Care Trusts, voluntary organisations, universities and providers in the areas of support planning, brokerage and provider development. He has a diploma in management studies, Diploma in Social Care and is an accredited national person centred planning practitioner and trainer.
